Snooker on IPTV

The Crucible, York and the Masters

The three tournaments that define a snooker season all happen in Britain within six months. The UK Championship starts at the York Barbican on 28 November 2026 — the 50th consecutive edition, with Mark Selby defending — then the Masters returns to Alexandra Palace from 10 to 17 January 2027 for the top 16, and the World Championship opens at the Crucible on 17 April.

That last one is the centenary: the World Championship was first staged in 1927, and 2027 is also the 51st consecutive year at the Crucible in Sheffield. The prize fund rises to £3 million with £625,000 for the winner, and the final runs across 2 and 3 May.

Coverage is split between the BBC, which carries the Triple Crown events including the afternoon and evening sessions, and TNT Sports for the wider ranking calendar, with the Champion of Champions and the Tour Championship free-to-air on ITV4. All of those channels are in the subscription, so a best-of-35 frame decider is never behind a second paywall.

UK rights are split event by event, and the split changes more often than people expect — the Champions League moves to Paramount+ from 2027-28, for instance. This is who has what for 2026-27.

FAQ

Snooker — frequently asked questions

Channels, kick-off times and the replay: the questions that come up most about snooker.

Ask a question

When is the World Championship?

Qualifying runs 5-14 April 2027 and the main event is at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield from 17 April to 3 May, with the final on 2 and 3 May. It is the centenary edition of the championship.

Is the UK Championship included?

Yes — the York Barbican tournament runs from 28 November to 6 December 2026 on the BBC and TNT Sports, both included. It is the 50th consecutive staging of the event.

Where can I watch the Masters?

The Masters is at Alexandra Palace from 10 to 17 January 2027 on the BBC, with Kyren Wilson defending. Ally Pally is also the darts venue, so the winter is busy there.

Do I get the afternoon sessions?

The BBC’s coverage includes the afternoon and evening sessions of the Triple Crown events, including the two-table setup in the early rounds.

What about the rest of the tour?

TNT Sports and Eurosport carry the ranking events through the season, and ITV4 shows the Champion of Champions and the Tour Championship.

Can I watch on a phone?

Yes, and the long matches are easier to follow that way — the app keeps the stream running while you switch between frames on different tables.
