Formula 1 on IPTV

Formula 1, Silverstone, MotoGP and BTCC

Sky Sports F1 shows the lot in the UK: every practice session, qualifying, sprint and race, across all 24 rounds. Channel 4 adds free-to-air highlights of each race, and both are in the subscription, so a Friday afternoon practice at Silverstone is as available as a Sunday race in Singapore.

The British Grand Prix is at Silverstone from 2 to 4 July 2027, and it is a Sprint weekend — qualifying and a shorter race on the Saturday, the Grand Prix itself on the Sunday. It falls in the middle weekend of Wimbledon, which the circuit asked for deliberately so the two events do not collide.

The 2026 season closes in Abu Dhabi on 6 December, and the 2027 calendar then opens in Bahrain on 14 March with a record ten Sprint weekends, including Monaco for the first time, before finishing in Abu Dhabi on 12 December. MotoGP is on TNT Sports, the BTCC on ITV4, and the endurance and oval racing rounds out the year on Eurosport and Sky.

UK rights are split event by event, and the split changes more often than people expect — the Champions League moves to Paramount+ from 2027-28, for instance. This is who has what for 2026-27.

FAQ

Formula 1 — frequently asked questions

Channels, kick-off times and the replay: the questions that come up most about formula 1.

Ask a question

Where is Formula 1 shown in the UK?

Sky Sports F1 has every session live, with Channel 4 showing free-to-air highlights. Both channels are part of the subscription, so you can watch either feed.

When is the British Grand Prix?

Silverstone hosts the British Grand Prix from 2 to 4 July 2027, as round 10 of the season and a Sprint weekend. It is deliberately scheduled on the middle weekend of Wimbledon.

Do I get practice and qualifying?

Yes — the full weekend, not just the race. Practice sessions from Australia and Japan run overnight in the winter, and the replay is there in the morning.

Is the picture really 4K?

Sky Sports F1 broadcasts in 4K and the feed is carried at that quality where your connection allows. Full HD is available as a fallback if the line is shared with other devices.

What else is in the motorsport package?

MotoGP on TNT Sports, the BTCC on ITV4, IndyCar and the Indy 500 on Sky Sports, and the World Endurance Championship with the Le Mans 24 Hours on Eurosport.

Can I test it on a race weekend?

Yes. The 12-hour trial covers a full race day, including the build-up and the podium, and it does not need a card.
