International rugby in the UK stays on free-to-air television, which is one of the reasons the game is so well followed here. The Six Nations is shared by BBC and ITV, and from November 2026 the new Nations Championship — the tournament that replaced the old autumn internationals — is exclusive to ITV and ITVX, with STV in Scotland and Welsh-language coverage on S4C.
England’s autumn 2026 campaign at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, is a good example of how packed it is: Australia on 8 November, Japan on 14 November, New Zealand on 21 November, and a Finals Weekend with a knockout double-header at the end of the month. Then the Six Nations returns on 5 February 2027 with Ireland away in Dublin and France at Twickenham on Valentine’s Day.
